The film follows the courageous journey of Stephanie Nyombayire, a young Rwandan activist determined to understand how ordinary people can take extraordinary action in the face of genocide. Co-produced by Yvonne Russo—who led an international production team across three continents—the project pairs Stephanie with Sir Martin Gilbert, one of the world’s leading Holocaust historians. Together, they travel through 15 countries, meeting survivors and the descendants of diplomats who risked everything to save tens of thousands of Jews from the Nazi death camps.
What begins as Stephanie’s search for insight into the ongoing atrocities in Darfur becomes something far more profound: a powerful revelation of how compassion, courage, and the quiet heroism of individuals can overcome even the darkest chapters of human history.
